mp3 players, my budget, and the future
I own an actual iPod, created by the magic elves in the Apple factory and invested with the magic that makes it work with the iTunes store. At least, it was… Then, I found iPodHackers.net.
Now, my burning desire to get my iPod working with rockbox and a bluetooth adapter that groks A2DP might challenge it’s Jobs-sanctioned pristine sanctity. Maybe I should find a b0rk3n one on eBay to subject to my hardware hacking urges? We shall see.
My lovely wife recently dropped her 8gb iriver clix and now its control panel stutters the down arrow. She’s looking lovingly at the Samsung YP-P2 8gb player as a replacement. I’m keen to see how quickly I can get the MTP -> UMS hack going on it. More info as I get it.
Why am I feeling the need to solder lately? Too long since I put something together, I guess. I think my mother still has my soldering iron…
