Google de-lists Noble Ape

What’s going on with Google? Tom Barbalet, an artificial life developer responsible for material distributed by Apple, keeps a website based on his code called Noble Ape. As it turns out, Noble Ape (including the specific sites for his software simulation and his bio and vitae) have been de-listed by Google with no explanation or stated reason.

What I find most peculiar about the situation is Google’s process of reinstatement for a site. To get them to work toward re-listing a site, the keeper of that site must admit to violating Google’s rules. Which aren’t really posted anywhere.

While there has been a bit of progress toward getting the site back on the lists, the specific links I put above (to the simulator and bio) are still off the radar. I don’t believe that Tom needs to admit to violations - his site is pretty much just a point at which artificial life researchers collect to discuss his software.

What do you think?
