Blue Rose game and NaNoWriMo
NaNoWriMo Day 1 - word count: 675
Yeah, that’s not fantastic. However, I am really pleased with the results of just under an hour of typing… While I probably won’t keep these particular words (most of them, anyway), getting to the task has helped me sort out what Shattered Mnon is like. Which is what I signed up for NaNoWriMo to do anyway…
My protagonist is shown to be relatively competent, in deep trouble, and all because dragons think they’re sooo much better than everyone else. And they are, really.
Last year, mickbradley (Mick of the House of the Harping Monkey) held a similar contest called (unfortunately) IntWoCreMo - International World Creation Month. During this frantic exercise in writing, I roughed-up a fantasy roleplaying world called “Ereas - The World Ocean”. It was a lot of fun and generated a few interesting scenarios. For this year’s NaNoWriMo competition, I’m “borrowing” something I created during the competition last year; the Clade.
So, in addition to dodging dragons, Rol (my tougher-than-nails scout) gets to avoid being consumed by a hive of horse-sized giant insects.
What the Hell is he doing that close to a Hive?!?
Blue Rose
As for the Blue Rose game, I found out from Blaine (the GM / Narrator) that this chapter of his chronicle is called “An Unexpected Trip”. Which fits now that we’ve started putting the spurs to the plot…
There are dire portents and signs! Iirrijur (my character) is beginning to believe the local House Noble is Up To Something(tm). My Envoys aren’t getting the support they need, and we’ve suddenly inherited a rhy-cat from a culture 300 miles away. Did I mention the ShadowGate we found during the *second session*?!?
Way to go, B! I’ve never been one to meander around the shoals when I could be flug bodily into the deep end with all the apex predators. Should be a hoot, destroying the ShadowGate. *If* we can break it.
Good times…
